We are delighted after a two year break to bring back our Sponsored Walk and Presentation Day.

Our presentation day is fast approaching on 28th May 2022 ad we are already looking ahead to the weather forecast.

It is the first presentation day we have been able to hold in two years following the COVID pandemic, but arrangements are in place to bring you a fun filled day with fun football, games, entertainment, food, drink and of courses the all important presentation of trophies and medals.

Each year we start presentation day with an optional sponsored wall that we hope you can support. This is needed to raise much needed funds for the club. Did you know for example that it costs us up to £3000 per month to provide winter training facilities - far more than we collect in winter in subs.

As we manage our own grounds we have to pay for repairs to our mowers as well as fuel to keep them running - and we're continuing to make improvements to our grounds and clubhouse.

And there is plenty more to pay for, from kits and equipment through to toilet rolls for the clubhouse.

Registration for the sponsored walk will start at 10am until 10:30am on Saturday 28th May 2022. We ask all participants to arrive no later than 10:25am to enable us to close the farm lane when the walk begins.

At 10:30am, we set off as a club - with managers supporting their own teams that are participating. The walk takes us up the close lane between Amaranth and the Scholes Tree. The ground is rough and uneven so wear sensible walking footwear.

We've provided answers to the most common questions we get each year;

Do you have to be a play for Amaranth to complete the walk?
Absolutely not - anyone can join in - Mums, Dads, Grandparents, brothers and sisters - all are welcome - and if you also want a sponsor form, grab one and help us raise some money.

Can I bring a dog?
Yes! As long as it is well behaved and kept on a lead.

Is there a prize for finishing first?
No! It is not a race and you shouldn't run. The ground is uneven in places and plenty of chances to twist an ankle! We'll have a Marshall at the front and another at the back

How much do I have to raise?
There is no minimum, and if you can't get sponsored but want to do the walk, please come and join us. Anything you can raise is really helpful

Where do I get a sponsor form from?
You manager will have these shortly, or you can download one and print it yourself at the bottom of this page

The walk takes around an hour to complete, and we'll close the lane again as people return. Therefore, if you are coming to the Presentation Day later, please avoid 11:30am to 12 noon as the lane may be closed. By 12 noon, everyone should be back and the lane will reopen.

Presentation Day will start from 12:30pm with some fun football games, music, prizes, BBQ and lots more. The bar will be open (but we encourage sensible drinking!).

You are welcome to bring chairs, gazebo's and blankets if you want to camp out and enjoy the (hopefully) good weather.

We present the trophies in age order with rough timescales shown below - these are subject to change so please check with your manager nearer the time.

  • 1pm - Soccer School through to U10's
  • 2pm - Under 11's - U13's
  • 3pm - Under 14's - Under 18's
  • 3:45pm - Open Ages

The Presentation Day will finish when everyone goes home.
